Insert your HostGPT Chatbot into a page
In this article, we will cover how to insert your chatbot into a page to be used.
- First, think about where you want to add this chatbot to. Ideally, you do not want to add it to your front page, as you don’t want to give random visitors access to it. Most hosts put the chatbot on a new page, and then share the link to that page via email or SMS.
- If you need a new page, create a new page
- Once you have created your page, or have an existing page, on the left bar, click ‘Pages’ and then click the page to enter the page editor.
- Now you should be looking at a blank page. Click the blue ‘+’ sign at the top and type ‘Shortcode’ and click the ‘Shortcode’ icon to add it to the page.
- On the page, enter this text exactly as shown, but insert your chatbot name in the ‘knowledge_base_name’ field

- If your chatbot name is ‘Sunny Shores Abode Assistant’, the exact code would be: [aichat_chatbot floating=”no” knowledge_base=”Sunny Shores Abode Assistant”]
- Click ‘Save’ on the top right and then click the ‘View Page’ to the left of the ‘Save’ button. This will open up your new chatbot page in a new tab.
- Your chatbot should be named ‘Sunny Shores Abode Assistant’ and you can now test it.
Notes
- If you want the chatbot to show up at the bottom of the page as a bubble, you can change the floating=”no” to “yes”
