How to enable Bank Transfers as a Payment Method
Enabling Bank Transfers allows customers to pay via direct bank transfer before their arrival. Here’s a step-by-step guide to setting it up:
1. Access Payment Methods
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to WP Booking System in the left-hand menu.
- Click on Settings.
- Go to the Payment Methods tab.
2. Activate “Bank Transfer”
- In the list of available payment methods, locate Bank Transfer.
- Check the box or toggle the switch to activate this payment method.
3. Configure Display Name and Description
- After activation, you’ll see options to customize:
- Display Name: Rename it to “Bank Transfer”, so customers recognize it as a payment option.
- Description: Provide payment details, such as “Complete your payment via bank transfer at least 30 days prior to check-in. Please use your booking reference as the payment reference.”
4. Save Changes
- Once you’ve configured the settings, scroll down and click Save Changes to apply them.
5. Provide Bank Details
Since WP Booking System does not process bank transfers directly, you need to provide your bank account details to customers manually. You can include this in:
- The Description field of the payment method.
- The Booking Confirmation Email, ensuring customers receive payment instructions immediately after booking.
Example:
Bank Name: [Your Bank Name]
Account Name: [Your Business Name]
Account Number: [Your Account Number]
IBAN: [Your IBAN] (if applicable)
SWIFT Code: [Your SWIFT Code] (if applicable)
Important Note
- Customers must manually transfer the payment to your bank account.
- Always verify payments before confirming the booking.
- Encourage customers to include their booking reference in the transfer details for easy tracking.
By following these steps, you can offer Bank Transfers as a secure payment option, giving customers an alternative to online payment gateways. 🚀
