Creating a chatbot
Creating a chatbot is the first step in the process to use our HostGPT service.
- Go to your admin panel and in the left side-bar, click ‘HostGPT’
- This will open up a ‘Chatbot Settings’ page. Generally, you do not need to modify setting on this page.
- On the left menu under HostGPT, click Knowledge. This is where you will enter and submit all of your “knowledge” into the chatbot. “Knowledge” is anything you want the chatbot to know.
- In the ‘HostGPT Chatbot Name’ field, give your chatbot a unique name.
- If you have multiple properties all with different welcome books or information, then you will want one Chatbot for each, so give each a unique name.
- If you run a campground or hotel-style property, where there is one welcome book or FAQ, then it may be better to create one Chatbot for the entire property.
- In the ‘Article Content’ field, enter the information you want the Chatbot to “know” (the knowledge).
- If you have a very large FAQ, and/or a diverse knowledge base you want the chatbot to know, it is better to create multiple entries with the same ‘HostGPT Chatbot Name’.
- If you have an FAQ page, you can use the ‘Article URL’ field and the system will ingest the data in the URL.
- Click ‘Submit Content’
Notes
- Article Content is cached for up to one hour, so even after you delete content, it will still answer from that content for up to 1-hour later.
- There is a daily limit for the total number of questions that can be asked per day. This limit varies depending on the plan and the amount of properties.
